Ha! I bet you thought it was me. Nope, not this girl! It’s our Aussies, they are expecting… probably. They have connected and in all likelihood, we will be seeing some new little faces around April 21st.
Indy is the first Australian Shepherd that we have ever owned and he really is the best boy. He is really chill for an Aussie. Steve warned me and we did plenty of research about how much exercise they need and about how very high energy they are. We are going to train him to herd when we are on the farm because I will need some help and because Aussies are working dogs and need a job. I am sooooo glad that Indy’s temperament is the way that it is because if he was just like Juniper??? I’m certain that we would not have another at least not until we had more space.
Juniper is your typical Australian Shepherd. She is HIGH energy and she doesn’t slow down for anything (she is a jump first ask questions later kinda gal). Her personality is fun, playful, and sometime loving. If we take her on a 2 mile run, she will relax for about an hour and she loves to cuddle up next to me on the couch after she has released all that energy… it’s also the best time to work in some training. Juniper also LOVES “helping” only her version of helping usually means she is right under my feet or her head in my lap. Recently, while we were moving to the new house across town, she just had to “help” me take apart furniture by sticking her head right in my way while I was unscrewing the headboard from the frame. She is super sweet and Leia (our 1.5 year old granddaughter) loves her really soft fur and June is so gentle with her; they are definitely buddies.
Anyway, here we are, with puppies on the way… in our rental house… yay. Seriously though, I am pretty excited. I love babies! And these two are going to make some pretty babies. Stay tuned… you can check our shop for details and pictures and updates as they happen.
They will be genetically tested, papered, and have had their first shots… we haven’t made any decisions beyond those. We haven’t decided exactly our terms/conditions/price will be, when we do decide very soon… I will post it on the Aussie page in our shop.
